Shop Opening Hours

In Greece the opening hours for the department stores and shops vary from region to region and also depending on the season. In the big cities like Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, Larissa the following opening times apply:

 

Central shops, department stores and supermarkets:

 

Monday – Friday: 9.00 - 21.00

 

Saturday opening hours are: 9.00 - 20.00

 

Closed on Sunday 

 

 

Neighborhood shops:

 

Monday, Wednesday, Saturday: 9.00 - 15.00

 

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9.00 - 14.30 & 17.30 - 20.30

 

Closed on Sunday

 

 

On Sundays shops in large cities are closed, except for neighborhood convenience stores and kiosks, which some operating 24 hours a day and Sundays. In many tourist areas shops are open especially during the summer months from 9.00 - 23.00.
