Knossos Palace

An important attraction of Crete, Knossos, which dominates near Heraklion, promises a magical journey through history and time! This wonderful ancient town was the center of the Minoan civilization. Its name is inextricably linked with legends such as Minotaur’s Labyrinth and Ariadne and Theseus’ love story. Reference point is the famous Knossos Palace; the palace of the legendary King Minos, with the royal apartments, the treasuries and the throne room. In Knossos, there are also other important building complexes, such as the Small Palace, the Royal Villa, the House of Frescoes and the Royal Tomb -Sanctuary. Important findings from the Palace, such as pots and vases, are kept in the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion.
